What was the special thing about aunt petunia in the deathly hallows?

The fact that she wanted to be part of the magical world when she was young. Then when she was in adult she made the magic world seem like it was the worse thing in the world and only freaks are part of it. So she was a hypocrical and jealous muggle.

What was the special thing about aunt petunia in the deathly hallows?
She wanted to go to Hogwarts and even wrote a letter to Dumbledore begging him to let her in.
Reply:I think it was that she actually was jealous of Lily. She had written Dumbledore a letter asking to be able to come to Hogwarts.
Reply:I think they meant the special thing about her was that she knew snape and maybe wanted to be like Lily (or not). That's what I got from it.
Reply:well you find out that she was jelouse of Lily. She had written a letter to Hogwarts asking to go to that school. but rejected because she isn't a witch.. and you can see that they were close sisters. everytime snape did something to her, lily would get mad at him..
Reply:when petunia and lily were younger and lily got accepted to hogwarts, petunia was jealous and wrote to dumbledore asking to be let in to hogwarts (even though she wasnt a witch). dumbledore denied her entry, which she was really sad about. petunia and lily were close so im guessing that once lily started going to hogwarts they started drifting apart. once lily graduated from hogwarts im guessing they became estranged at that point since they were at such different points in the world. im also guessing that once petunia had dudley she was hoping that he might have a place in hogwarts one day, and when harry came around who was from a wizarding family, petunia thought that since harry was around maybe some of his magic would rub off on dudley. perhaps when dudley showed zero signs of magic that was when petunia lost hope in ever being a part of the magical world (beyond that of being harry's aunt). perhaps this is why in the 5th (or was it 6th?) when vernon is trying to throw harry out of the house petunia says that he should stay...she still wants the connection to the magical world....her sisters world...even if its through harry
