What's with Aunt Petunia at the beggining of the Order of the Phoenix?

I know she's not a squib, and she's not a witch. But something smells in there. Do you think JKR meant something when she wrote that? Is it so important, that the film producer will keep the scene?

I know that JKR has stated that "there is more to Aunt Petunia than meets the eye." And, we are supposed to learn more about her in book 7.

I suspect that there will be some of the Aunt Petunia scene at the beginning of Order of the Phoenix movie (to set up her role in book 7) but I'd bet it will be condensed down and much will be cut. The emphasis will likely just be how much she understood when she agreed to take Harry in, as far as the possible danger to herself, Dudley %26amp; Vernon. Also, that it is what kept Harry safe all through his childhood until age 17 while not under Dumbledore's supervision and protection at Hogwarts.
Reply:Are we sure she's not a squib?
Reply:Something has to come up or else I don't think they'd include it. It'll be interesting to see what's up.
Reply:well we defenitly know that is very important, and in the 7th book were gonna find out alot more about petunia. we know that dumbeldore keeps in contact with her. have u been to the harry potter lexicon? its answers alot of questions...go to it. hplexicon.com
Reply:I doubt they'll keep it, seeing as the movies have cut plenty of other very relevant material from the novels.

Pity those who are fans of the movies but haven't read the books: they have barely a hint of what the story is actually about.
