Were the words to Petunia by dumbledore''remember my last '' ever explained?

I thought maybe this may have been explained in book 7 unless I missed it,obviously it was some sort of promise made by Petunia to Dumbledor, was it simply she promised to take Harry in or was it Dumbledor had something over her?

Were the words to Petunia by dumbledore''remember my last '' ever explained?
Yes they were explained in the fifth book. "The last" was the letter Dumbledore left together with Harry on the doorstep at Privet Dr. when Harry's parents were killed. It explained about the deaths of Lily and James, and that as long as Harry remains in their home he is magically protected by Voldemort. Dumbledore just reminded Petunia that they mustn't throw Harry out of the house, at least not until his seventeenth birthday when the protection stops.
Reply:When she was a child, Petunia wrote a letter to Dumbledore asking if she could go to Hogwarts with her sister Lily. It's unclear whether he accepted her or not, but Lily and Snape read the letter, and Petunia was embarrassed. Here on out she referred to her sister as a "freak".

I think this was the last correspondance between Lily and Dumbledore until the howler, and I really don't know what it means, but that's the last letter she wrote to him.
Reply:she agreed to have harry stay in her house it involves a spell to keep harry safe it is explained in book she was not sent a howler
Reply:Dumbledore's Howler message to Petunia "Remember my last" refers to the last letter he sent her - the letter pinned to Baby Harry's blankets explaining that his parents were dead and the Dursley's would need to look after him.

Book 7 does explain Dumbledore's correspondence with Petunia PREVIOUS to both these letters.
Reply:It was explained at the end of book five and some have queried JKR about and and she explained in interview, remember my last refers to the letter Dumbledore left for Petunia with Harry in the first book explaining that Harry and the Dursleys can only be safe from Voldemort if they live together under Lily's protection.
Reply:I never got that either. I think it's something he explained in his letter to her when Harry was dropped on her doorstep, but I never heard him tell harry about it.
Reply:It was that she promised to take Harry in
