i put bug spray on them because something is eating away at them. believe is those japanese beetles because thats what we see on them. the spray is for the beetles. i sprayed them today and hours later i go out there. they all look like this! 3 pots of the red, 2 pots of the pink, and another pot of a lavender. i hate to have them die.

Bug spray did this to my petunias now what?
Whenbever you hit a delication bloom with a spray or even direct water, the bloom will die. Fresh blooms cannot handle direct ontact witha spray or water. Your best bet is to deadhead (cut off) all the blooms that have been affected even if it means removing entire branches. Petunias are hardy and they will bounce back but it may take awhile depending on how much damage has to be removed. The best method for removing J. beetles is to take a bowl of soapy water and just knock the beetles off into the soapy water. They die almost immediately.
Reply:lOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE SCORCHED THE PLANTS. THEY COULD WELL RECOVER. iT IS JUST A CASE OF WAIT AND SEE. GOOD LUCK
Reply:So sad. I have seen that happen before. Nothing you can do.
Next time just spray the leaves.
