I went to look at my flowers this morning and half of my petunias are missing their flowers, some of them were plucked from the ground. I've never seen this happen, could it be deer? We have deer, but I didn't think they liked petunias.
Something ate my Petunias?
I work for a landscape co. in Texas and I have seen at least two varieties of annual flowers completely pulled from the soil. I did not see the perpetrator, but by the way the tops were chopped off, I would bet the rent it was a white-tail deer. There were also hoof imprints in the compost that obviously were from the above-mentioned critter.
Reply:petunias can be poisonous to some animals so whatever ate it is prolly not having to good a day.
Reply:Check the area for snails and/or slugs...they can wreck havoc overnight.
Reply:I did it
