What would be your perfect ending to the Harry Potter book series?

Mine would be, the Petunia Dursley turns out to be a witch, much to her and her family's dismay. Lilly and James Potter (and the rest of voldemorts victims) weren't actually killed, their souls were just trapped... so they come to life... and of course voldemort is killed off for good...

What would be your perfect ending to the Harry Potter book series?
My perfect ending wouldn't be all sappy, happily-ever-after. I think that would ruin the darker, almost realistic world where even the good can die that JK Rowling has done so well to establish over the past six books. I'd like a nice bittersweet ending where we see the deaths of many 'good' characters (one of the trio, at least two Weasleys, a number of the Order and a few of Harry's classmates) as well as the death of Voldemort.





I'd like to see the characters emerge into their new peaceful world saddened to have lost loved ones but joyful of the future that lies ahead. McGonagall should take over as Headmistress of Hogwarts, abolishing the school Houses (which have done nothing but divide the school), signalling a fresh beginning and the folk in Harry's year would finish school and to follow different paths the adult world, although all still connected by the war they fought. If Harry and Draco live, I want to see them shake hands (they'll never be friends but they can put their fued aside), showing that Gryffindors and Slytherins will not allow themselves to be divided by the colour of their ties.





I think I'd cry if we ended up with nauseating sap where all the 'good' characters lives, all the kids marry their childhood sweethearts and pop out half a dozen brats.
Reply:I really like your ending, except maybe for the Petunia thing, 'cause I really dont care about her and the Dursleys in general. I'd also like all the dead people to return from death, but most of all Dumbledore, the next novel is going to feel so empty without him, his advices, his serene personality.


I also dont want death neither for Harry or Ron or Hermione, and for Snape, that traitor rat, I hate him even more than Voldemort, he has to have the worst death. Then I want a really tough fight between Harry and Voldemort, and at the end, Voldemort dead of course.


Adn the main couples: Harry and Ginny, Ron and Hermione.


Oh, I also want the foreign students that appeared in the fourth book, during the Triwizard Tournament, all those people, Viktor, Fleur, to show up again in the last book.
Reply:i like your ending but id also add that Petunia gets a divorce but doesnt get custody of Dudley and Siruis and Dumbledore come back to life.
Reply:Since the author says that two of the main characters will die, I think that Voldermort will kill Ron because he gives his life to save Harry and Hermonie and that Harry and Hermonie end up together. At least I think that this would be a good ending.

Reply:Sirius comes back, Dumbledore is alive and Snape was undercover. Harry kills Voldemort and ends up with Luna or Hermione.

Reply:Harry is a hoarcrux. He will sacrifice himself so Voldey will be able to be killed. Either Ron or Neville will kill Voldey (I'm leaning towards Neville). Hermione and Ron will end up together. Snape is good.
Reply:The perfect ending to Harry Potter would be Dumbledore coming back to life, Voldemort getting killed, Harry getting together with Cho, Harry's parents coming back to life (along with all the other innocent people who died), and ending with "Happily Ever After!"
Reply:I would just like to see Harry Potter defeat Voldmort and go on to prosper in his life. J.K. Rowling has stated that she is going to kill off two more characters, and I do not want them to be Harry, Ron, Hermione, or Ginny. I want the death eaters to get what they deserve. Before Voldmort meets his demise, I want to see alot more of him.
