Anyone whose seen HARRY POTTER 5, does Petunia have her strange awareness of some parts of the magical world?

I dont care, spoil it for me! if that seen scene is in the movie -yay! then I will be satisfied! Everyones keeps praising Umby, Bella, Luna, the kiss, the fireworks, the BIG fight - that all great that its all in there. but what about the "Peck of Owls" chapter, did Yates put that in there? does Vernon ask about voldy and dementors, does Petunia surprise us with her hidden knowledge, do owls fly in constenely? the Dursleys couldnt have been in there for nothing!!! I love that scene in the book. does petunia begin casting shifty looks when Harry mentions dementors, does she gasp suddenly? anything small that is derived from the books?

Nope. Harry only gets one owl that night? Petunia doesn't really say anything and then they take Dudly to the hospital and while they are gone the order comes and gets Harry.

It was one of the many scenes they butchered. Plus Petunia was dressed in this tiny little dress. Something the real Petunia would been scandalized by.
Reply:I agree, they might as well have left the Dursleys out, for all the good it did, no mention of dementors while they were in that scene at ALL. The only owl was the one that brought the Hogwarts explusion notice, and the letter talked sorta like a howler, Harry didn't even have to open it. No howler from Dumbledore to Petunia, no owl to Harry from Mr. Weasley or Sirius. Petunia never admits that Harry has to stay. Very sad.

And what was with that dress Petunia was wearing?
Reply:nope that's just one more thing they totally f-ed up on.

okay to be honest, she does give a funny little look but anyone who didn't read the book, would not have picked up on it.
Reply:never happens
Reply:not really that was a small scene. she just looks shocked about dudley. maybe she understood what happened, but they didn't show it.
