Can someonee please help me with my petunias?

They are in a hanging pot and most have all died off.....I give them plenty to drink and sun..but are they getting too much sun? I thought these were full sun to partial shade flowers? Would miracle grow help? I want to make them thrive again (like there were just a few days ago.) I already trimmed the dead ones off...

Most flowers you buy prepotted are usually nearly root bound when you buy them. So you need to buy another hanging pot %26amp; some potting soil %26amp; separate the plant in half, one in each pot and add the potting soil. Be sure to place some gravel in the bottom for drainage. Good as new %26amp; now you have 2!
Reply:They might not come back until you repot them as they need more dirt to expand in to survive. Without more dirt, they are choking themselves out. Report It

Reply:Make sure you pick off the seed pods after they flower, otherwise they go to all seeds and you won't have anymore flowers. Don't overwater, a little fertilizer will help, they will start back up if you have trimmed them back. Have you tried the "wave" petunias? They just keep going all summer long, I love them, they don't seem to need as much care.
Reply:Petunias are prone to this. Since you have already trimmed them back all you need is fertilizer and love. If the leaves have a yellowed look then you are over watering.
Reply:petunias will take a lot of sun and only partial shade (they will not bloom well if full shade) fertilize about every two weeks with Miracle Grow or similar product. You have to remember that your petunia just came from a perfect environment and will have a little stress, also the petunia blooms do die off and you have to pull of the dead and or shriveled ones to promote more blooming, make sure to water regularly, they are pretty versatile
Reply:Are they getting too much water? They like to dry out in between waterings. And miracle once every two weeks will keep them healthy(just not too much again). If you take them back to the nursery, they should be able to tell whats wrong just by looking at the plants. Good luck!!!! :)
Reply:You need to make sure they're in the right kind of soil. Since they're in pots, the best thing to use which is absolutely loaded with nutrients fior your plants is called worm castings, or vermicast. This stuff goes through a process which ensures that it will be so saturated with nutrients, your plants are almost sure to thrive. If you can't track it down (since it's sometimes hard to find) use GOOD QUALITY potting soil. It too is also loaded with nutrients on which your plants can thrive. Both time-release water and nutrients to your plants to make sure they're getting what they need when they need it. Reply:Give them little water in the mornings take out of the sun they dry out to fast, and dont forget to dehead them when the flower is spent. Hope this helps
Reply:When feeding, add equal parts of epsoms salts (1 tablespoon food and salts per gallon of water once every 2 weeks). That helps the plant stay green and healthy. I also have hanging baskets full of petunias. I deadhead (pick off spent blooms) every day, and I water every day as hanging baskets dry out much faster than regular containers.
