How long do Petunias typically last (I'm in the Northeast)?

And are there any tips to make them last longer? They're so pretty, but when they are gone, they are GONE....

Petunias are heave feeders, so follow The instructions on your fertilizer carefully but try to feed them once a week.

Keep them deadheaded, and watch out for aphids, because they will suck the like out fo them.

I personally do more than just dead head, I cut every other branch back an inch at least. As they regrow then I cut back the other long branches.
Reply:When a flower starts to die off, pull it off, as with all flowering plants it's only purpose in life is to reproduce, if you keep dead heading it will encourage the plant to produce more flowers in the hope of reproducing, therefore resulting in a longer flowering period.
Reply:I havnt had any last more than a few months..they dont come back year after year. You could keep replanting them over and over.
Reply:After the flower dies pick it off. That way the plant does not try to keep feeding it and puts more energy into new blooms. I love petunias and they should last all summer. I have alot of them in pots and they will come up the next year but I live in OK and we don't have alot of cold weather here.
