What are these pests on my impatiens?

At first I only seen a couple here and there, but now my impatiens are infested with them. I wish I could upload a picture for someone to see what they look like. My impatiens have tiny holes in the leaves. So obviously the pests are eating the leaves. The impatiens are planted with petunia's, spikes, and german ivy. The pests are only on the impatiens. The pests look like tiny catepillars. but not cute!! Their body appears to be reddish/orange with black spikes coming off!! If anyone knows what they are please tell me and how to get rid of them.

The pic was a great help...Thank you.

That is a "Great Spangled Fritillary" caterpillar. Here is a web page that shows what it is. Just scroll down until you locate the name.http://www.whatsthiscaterpillar.co.uk/am...

now that you know what it is you can research it further.

Do they look like this? http://www.nysaes.cornell.edu/ent/biocon... If so, let them live, they eat aphids.
