I really need help trying to get a deeper understanding of this poem, and i have searching on the web. help please, and no i am not lazy i just am frustrated.
Look, I have been searching and searching. Can someone explain the meaning of Revolutionary Petunias?
In "Revolutionary Petunias," Sammy Lou of Rue fights for justice when she kills her husband's murderer "using a cultivator's hoe / with verve and skill" (189). Walker believes women can change, but that meaningful change will only come through honest acknowledgement of the past. Women like Dee and Molly, by refusing to continue the line from the past, will not add to the richness of the future.
I found this information on the website below. It's about 20 paragraphs down on the page.
Hope this helps!
